WCWU Elects Committee Chairs

During our Organizing Committee (OC) meeting on 10/29, WCWU organizers moved to formally elect Chairs of the OC and its subcommittees: Data, Partnerships, Communications, Events & Actions, and Research. Not only will this structure identify clear points of contact for each subcommittee and maintain our momentum, it also ensures we are acting in accordance with labor union values of democratic processes and consensus building. We are practicing now what will be expected of us when we formally unionize later down the line.

The Organizing Committee unanimously elected Peter Schultz as our Organizing Committee Chair and individual subcommittees were tasked with holding elections at their next meetings. We are proud to announce the following elected Chairs:

  • Chair of Communications Committee: Shelby Hearn

  • Chair of Data Committee: Charles Marr

  • Chair of Partnerships Committee: TBD

  • Chair of Events & Actions Committee: Andrew Somoskey

  • Chair of Research Committee: TBD
